Marya Rana

Non-Resident Tutor
Pre-Med
Hi Penguins! I’m Marya and I’m really excited to serve as a non-resident tutor for Quincy this year. I grew up in San Diego and moved to the East Coast to attend Williams College, where I majored in Biology and Arabic Studies (and spent a semester in Amman) with concentrations in Neuroscience and Public Health. I then spent two years in the UK at the University of Cambridge on a Hershel Smith Fellowship and completed an MPhil in Population Health Sciences with a concentration in Global Health and an MPhil in the Sociology of Marginality and Exclusion. I came back to MA in 2023 to attend Harvard Med and am currently in my second year. I’m really interested in women’s health, disparities, and social determinants of health both domestically and globally, and would love to talk about any of these things! I also love baking, running, doing hot yoga, and trying out new coffee shops and bakeries; if you have any recs please send them my way!! I live in Mission Hill with my partner who is a PhD student at the Network Science Institute at Northeastern. Feel free to talk to me about medicine, fellowships, studying abroad, finding balance amidst all of our commitments (!!) or anything else that's on your mind :)
