Academic Coordinator
James Simmons

Hello, my dog Coco and I are back at Quincy for our third year!  As Academic Coordinator, I am here to help and support Quincy House students in a wide variety of ways including answering questions about registration, enrollment, letters of recommendation and a host of other academic policies and procedures.  I am originally from historic Vincennes, Indiana and moved to New England in 2015.  I graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Social Studies Education and also studied theatre, music, and broadcasting during my college years.

Prior to joining Quincy House, I worked in the Office of the Registrar for Boston University's Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and spent five years as a House Parent at boarding schools including Hampshire Country School and CATS Academy Boston.  I also currently work part-time as an usher for Harvard's American Repertory Theatre, so feel free to ask me about the current show they have on stage (or ask me to brag about the musical my wife is writing!).

My hobbies and interests include theatre, trivia, sports (playing or watching), hiking, discussing the merits of professional wrestling as an underappreciated art-form with my wife Angele, and enjoying my collection of vinyl records. A fun fact about me is that even though I've lived in greater Boston for nearly 6 years, I still get a little excited that I get to ride a subway train to work every day!  I look forward to meeting everyone, and please don't hesitate to stop by or set up an appointment if there is anything I can help or support you with.  Be on the lookout on the TV screens for days when Coco is here, as she LOVES meeting everybody!
