Jack Kincaid

Resident Tutor
Pre-Med

Hi Penguins! I’m so excited to be joining the Quincy House community as a Resident Tutor this year. I’m originally from Saint Louis, MO and studied Nutritional Biochemistry & Metabolism (BA) as well as Human Nutrition (Integrated MS) at Case Western Reserve University as an undergraduate. After graduating in 2021, I spent two years in England at the University of Cambridge where I received an MPhil in Clinical Biochemistry researching the biological mechanisms regulating appetite and body weight in humans. I came back to the States in 2023 to join the Harvard/MIT MD-PhD Program, and am now a second-year trainee intending to spend my PhD (starting in Summer 2025!) studying the links between diet, obesity, and cancer development.

If it’s not clear from my academic background, I love nutrition science and generally anything to do with food (restaurant recommendations always welcomed and sincerely appreciated). I grew up wanting to be a dietitian, and it was only late in my undergraduate studies that I pivoted to the goal of becoming a physician scientist. Current favorite shows include The Bear and The Great British Bake Off. Apart from food and nutrition, I love tennis (as well as, more recently, pickleball) and played for the team in Cambridge while I was abroad.

Please come say hello! Always happy to chat about whatever, whether it be medicine, science, food/nutrition, study abroad, college and/OR just listening to all of the amazing/challenging/neat stuff that’s happening in your life. Feel free to find me in Stone S-309 whenever– my contact information is posted on my door.

Fun Fact: I shaved my head in 2019 to play a soldier as an extra in a movie with Tom Holland… and then didn’t make it into the final cut of the film. :(
