Daniel McDermott
Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to be a tutor at Quincy this year. My name is Daniel—I’m a first-year medical student at Harvard Medical School. I’m originally from Riverside, Connecticut. I studied Biomedical Engineering at Brown University and spent a year at the University of Bologna in Italy researching wrist biomechanics. I planned on being an engineer but switched gears halfway through college to pursue medicine. I’m a nerd for combining medicine and technology and love talking about it.
I play water polo, and I also learned how to play horse polo in college. Both are an absolute blast. I’m learning to surf as well, and finding opportunities to surf around Boston has been loads of fun. I have sung in choirs my whole life, and I’m planning on continuing with music here. I’m also learning to play the guitar and the harmonica. I love talking about music, engineering, medicine, and their intersections and would love to talk about anything. I’m excited to become a part of the Quincy community!
