Hi all! My name is Claire, and I am thrilled to be joining the Penguin community in my first year as an NRT. I’m originally from Des Moines, Iowa (Midwesterners, reach out!), and I moved out east for college in 2018. I concentrated in Biology and Political Science at Brown University and graduated in 2022. After graduation, I spent two years as a postbaccalaureate research fellow at the National Cancer Institute, where I worked on the discovery and optimization of novel glycan-binding antibodies for clinical and basic research applications. As an M1 in the Harvard/MIT MD-PhD program (HST track), I am very new to the Harvard community and am loving it! For my PhD, I am interested in developing immunotherapies for solid tumor treatment and elucidating mechanisms of tumor metastasis.

Outside of academics, I am an avid reader (please reach out with or for recommendations!), follower of Boston sports, and cat mom to my orange boy Galileo (more than happy to show pics). Feel free to reach out to chat about choosing a career path, research, medicine, literature, work-life-health balance, and anything else that’s on your mind. I can’t wait to get to know you all!
