Like my husband Tim, I am a lifelong educator. I started my career as an education major at Syracuse University and then joined Teach For America and taught at a middle school in Oakland, California. After my two-year commitment, I went to graduate school at Harvard and then worked for several high-performing nonprofit organizations in Boston and New York City. I enjoyed my time with these organizations, but couldn’t escape the pull of the classroom. In 2008, I became an administrator and helped launch Achievement First Brownsville Charter School, a new K-12 academy in Brooklyn, New York. After two years, I moved back to Cambridge, but continued to serve as Achievement First’s Director of School Leader Recruitment and Diversity Initiatives, and then, more recently, as the Chief Talent Officer for Phoenix Charter Academy, a network of alternative high schools here in Massachusetts. Most recently, I served as the Managing Director of Alumni Leadership Development at Teach For America, and am currently the New England Area Manager for Catapult Learning.
